Methoxyacetic acid is an organic chemical raw material; it can be synthesized with methanol through esterification reaction to methyl methoxyacetate. Methyl methoxyacetate is an extremely valuable intermediate that can be used for the kinetic resolution of chiral amines. It can also be used to synthesize vitamin B6, sulfa-5-pyrimidine, etc. In addition, methyl methoxyacetate is also used as a catalyst for polymerization reactions.
